Automatic paragraph numbers are codes placed into a document instead of typing actual characters They are most commonly used to sequentially number paragraphs. The numbering codes generate whatever number is appropriate at that point in the document – even when the document is edited, and paragraphs are rearranged. There are two major benefits to using automatic paragraph numbers: (1) they prevent many numbering errors (for example, two paragraph C’s, but no paragraph D); and (2) they automatically renumber appropriately when the document is edited. So, for example, in a document that contains 100 numbered paragraphs, if a new paragraph No. 1 is inserted, all of the other paragraph numbers are automatically updated.
Snapnumbers provides a flexible, stable alternative to Word’s built-in paragraph numbering feature. They are not linked to styles, so they can be used anywhere in a document, regardless of formatting considerations. Simply type text normally — tabbing, indenting, and formatting as desired — then when you want to insert a Snapnumber, a click and you’re set… forever.
The program includes four pre-defined styles of numbering systems and an unlimited capacity for customization.
Snapnumbers is an add-in for— and compatible with—all full-feature versions of Word for Windows. It adds nicely to the ease of use and power of Doxserá® and TheFormTool PRO.
To build a TOC automatically, simply mark each paragraph with any Header-type style (use Word's Styles by clicking into each proposed TOC entry and set each header as a "Header" type of style). This will 'mark' those headers for the TOC. Once your headers are marked as Header-type styles, use Snapnumber's "Generate TOC" to generate your TOC with a single mouse click.
If you want to use Header text in combination with a non-header text on the same line, you can use CONTROL+ALT+Enter to insert a special paragraph seperate so that separate styles can be used in the same paragraph without any line breaks.
